SPHERIC is the international organisation representing the community of researchers and industrial users of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH).
Convergence, numerical stability, boundary conditions, kernel properties, time marching, existence and properties of solutions, make a short list of the key issues which should be addressed in order to make SPH a mature method. In order to progress in the knowledge of the abovementioned problems, several Grand Challenges (GCs) are defined by the SPHERIC Steering Committee:
- GC#1: Convergence, consistency and stability
- GC#2: Boundary conditions
- GC#3: Adaptivity
- GC#4: Coupling to other models
- GC#5: Applicability to industry
